Ways We Saved This Month

1. Terry fixed the dryer with purchased part after researching how on internet himself. Estimated Savings. $150.00
2. I negotiated a tire with Sam's Wholesale and just paid the tax of 16.10. Savings $252.93
3. The irrigation dial is turned back to using 50% of water used in summer time. Savings to be determined by next utility bill.
4. Explained to two groups of women friends of our no spend year and would not be going out to dinner and lunches. Estimated Savings
50.00 monthly and 600.00 a year.
5. Made cards for 5 friends for potluck birthday luncheon instead of buying cards ( estimated by average of 3.50 a card) 21.00- purchased
Card papers 1.00= 20.00.
6. Our thermostats are turned down to 65 degrees instead of 68. Vents and doors are closed to rooms we are not using. Estimed saving

7. Scheduled annual medical tests and dental procedures to take advantage of company paid 1000.00 for each before deductible met.

Beginning again

Today is my first post in the first month of the New Year. In the hope of establishing accountability in making changes that I desire to uphold a simple lifestyle, this place will be designated as my journal. I hope to further develop the habits that will enable us to create a lifestyle that is as much fun, as it is wise in how we spend our money.

The challenge this month is to see if I can spend 500.00 on everything ( besides bills). This includes gasoline, food, clothing, haircuts, entertainment, gifts, etc. With only 4 more days to go, I am not going to meet this challenge but there is always next month.
